I hope that you enjoy my works as much as I enjoy making them. I hope that through them you will get a better understanding of the magic and meaning of the Huichol culture.

Blazing in a cool blue sky, estrellas (stars) send a message from the heavens. In Huichol belief, it is the stars that watch over the sun at night while he is asleep. They bring a special beauty to the holiday in a set of six original ornaments.
Each tiny, perfect figure is expressed in miniscule chaquira beads. Higinio Hernandez Carrillo patiently places them one at a time on a foam sphere using beeswax, instead of glue. Because each piece is individually crafted without a pattern, small details may vary, such as the color of a shape or symbol, but without affecting the original design.
Since these ornaments are made with the traditional process of attaching the beads with wax, do not expose them to direct heat or light, which may cause the wax to dry or soften and thus loosen the beads.
